This physiology class online covers function aspects of the human body from the cellular to the organ-system level. Students will learn the major physiology of body systems, including mechanisms and regulation of normal body functions and pathophysiological aspects of disease. Students will gain skills in measuring physiological outputs and will analyze these data to give meaningful interpretations of the physiological status of the body. Finally, students will gain an appreciation of the intricacy and detail of the human body, the importance of precision and accuracy in experimental work, and the value of collaborative learning.

Note: For successful completion of this physiology class online, it is recommended that students are familiar with BIOL 125: Biology I, BIOL 126: Biology II or their equivalents.

Our Human Physiology for Health Professionals course is a great addition to degree programs that are already underway. If you are interested in starting a degree program at Doane, please visit our website at www.doane.edu.

Course Includes

  • illustration of a person talking. Lectures
  • illustration of a beaker. Labs
Labs fall into three categories: at-home labs, laboratory kits and virtual labs. At-home labs use commonly found household items or things that can easily be purchased and come with a set of instructions on how to complete the lab. Laboratory kits are used in this course and are very similar to at home-labs - items and directions required to complete the lab are sent directly to you via the purchase of a lab kit. Virtual labs are also used in this course and use designed simulations which walk you through any experiment and will ask you lab-related questions. Hands-on labs may require a video of you performing the lab and/or a completed lab report.
